About

I specialise in organisational behaviour and HR, with a focus on wellbeing, stress, PTSD, mental health, and psychosocial risks in the workplace. My research spans topics like migrant and refugee wellbeing, women’s exclusion and marginalisation, and the impact of PTSD in organisational contexts. I am also exploring health and safety in New Zealand, particularly in relation to psychosocial risks following COVID-19. I publish in both academic and non-academic outlets, and prior to joining Massey University, I spent over a decade working as a consultant for both public and private sector organisations.

My current projects include Muslim inclusion, refugee women’s wellbeing and entrepreneurship, online hate speech and its impact on people of colour, and employee wellbeing in relation to psychosocial risks, terrorism, and job stress. I approach these topics with a mixed-methods framework, combining quantitative and qualitative research techniques.

Beyond my research and teaching, I mentor PhD students and serve on the College Board of the Business School, along with the Foundation Education Programmes Committee (FEPC). I’ve also contributed to various school committees, including teaching and learning, research, and student liaison. Additionally, I run a social media support group called "Pakistani Women in Academia," which helps women pursue further education and research while fostering a strong community of women academics in Pakistan.
